Tales from the Crypto: Regulatory Issues Affecting Digital Assets and the Tax Implications for Buying, Selling, and Using Virtual Currencies.

Anne Gordon and Miles Fuller will speak about digital assets and what you need to know virtual currencies.

Anne Gordon (Vice President, International Tax Policy at the National Foreign Trade Counsel). While Anne served in the U.S. Senate as Tax Counsel to two Senators, Rob Portman and Todd Young, of the Senate Finance Committee, she drafted the amendment to the Internal Revenue Code Section 6050I which expanded the definition of cash in the code section to include digital assets.  Per the amendment, businesses receiving more than $10,000 in digital assets must report those transactions.

Miles Fuller (Head of Government Solutions at Taxbit) focuses on digital asset tax and compliance. He uses reliable software to automate data management and tax compliance for crypto.

The event will be held:

Tuesday, February 6th, 6 – 7:40 pm, in the Ricketson Building, room 370, and on Zoom here.
