Professional Biography
Mark L. Williams, a founding partner of Williams & Serio LLC, is a trial attorney whose strategic approach has shaped some of the most complex, high-stakes investigations and litigation in the country. Drawing on more than 15 years of experience, he previously served as a Senior Trial Attorney with the Securities and Exchange Commission and as a Federal Prosecutor with the Department of Justice, where he focused on the prosecution of complex white-collar crime.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Williams has tried more than 50 cases to verdict—spanning jurisdictions from the Southern District of New York to the Central District of California—including landmark matters involving accounting fraud, insider trading, Ponzi schemes, and the recovery of assets to satisfy judgments. His expertise extends across investigations, litigation strategy, courtroom practice, oral advocacy, brief-writing, and settlement and plea negotiations.
His work has earned him significant recognition. His honors include the Ferdinand Pecora Award for exceptional individual performance at the SEC, multiple Directors' Awards at the SEC, the Executive Office for United States Attorneys Director's Award following a successful 10-week trial, and several Outstanding Attorney awards from both agencies. Mr. Williams joined the Department of Justice through the prestigious Attorney General's Honors Program.
