The University of Denver is excited to share its most recent list of graduates who earned public interest fellowships and honors positions, which will allow them to launch their careers in nonprofits and government agencies.

Alexi Freeman, Associate Dean and Director of Externships and Social Justice Initiatives, shared: “Despite a significant need for public sector lawyers, few fellowship positions exist. These positions are highly coveted and highly selective. We are proud of our students’ hard work and their commitment to serving the public good.”

Two students were awarded Immigrant Justice Corps Fellowships to join nonprofit organizations serving immigrant communities nationwide:

  • Marlene Pierce will work as the Katzmann Fellow with Catholic Charities of Central Colorado.
  • Sydney Johnson will work with Al Otro Lado as part of their unaccompanied minors program.

The following graduates will join government agencies through the agencies’ respective programs:

  • Olivia Lettenberger, class of 2023, will join the National Labor Relations Board Honors Program.
  • Sam Cohen will join the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of the Solicitor, as part of the department’s Honors Attorney program.
  • Maeve Moynihan will join the Legal Honors Program at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as a Law Clerk.
  • Gina Nykerk will join the Office of the Colorado Attorney General through its general fellowship program.
