Book Workshop on Torts and Retribution

The Sturm College of Law and the Ved Nanda Center for International & Comparative Law hosted a workshop with distinguished visiting panelists on the book “Torts and Retribution: The Case for Punitive Damages” (Cambridge University Press 2025), by Professor María Guadalupe Martínez Alles, on April 30, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Panels showcased tort and criminal law scholars from the U.S. and abroad who engaged with the main themes of the book and how it might address pressing questions concerning privacy torts, antitrust law, and products liability in the context of the digital economy. The author replied to the commentators and then opened the floor for exchange with the audience.
