John Ritsick is Senior Counsel for Gates Corporation, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of industrial and automotive products, systems and components, and which has operations in 29 countries. Prior to joining Gates, John was Senior Corporate Counsel for Flextronics International, a market-leading, multinational Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) provider with a network of facilities in 32 countries on five continents. John graduated cum laude from Colorado State University in 1992 with a B.A. in Political Science. He received an M.A. in Political Science from Columbia University in 1994 and a J.D. from Georgetown University, cum laude, in 1999. After clerking for the Honorable Justice Michael Bender on the Colorado Supreme Court, John was an associate at Cooley Godward Kronish and later at Faegre & Benson. He also has been Corporate Counsel for Exclusive Resorts, LLC, a luxury private residence club headquartered in Denver. John’s practice has focused on complex international commercial transactions, negotiations and dispute resolution; licensing arrangements; outsourcing and services agreements; intellectual property management and strategy; IP and commercial-related litigation and data security and privacy issues.
