MSLA Admissions Requirements

Applications for the MSLA degree are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis for a start date in January, May, or August. Completed applications are notified within 4-6 weeks.

To complete the application, please submit the following:

  • Essay: Please upload an essay within the application explaining “Why You Wish to Pursue a Career in Legal Administration”*
  • Resume: Please upload a copy of your resume in the space provided within the application
  • Two Letters of Recommendation: Two letters of recommendation are required. After logging in to the application, there is a “create invitation” link under the “for others to complete” heading. Please click this link. It will bring you to a page to send out requests to recommenders. Recommenders will receive this invitation and upload their recommendations electronically.
  • Official transcripts: Please send all transcripts from any undergraduate or graduate institutions attended.
  • Test Scores: Please have official LSAT, GMAT, or GRE scores mailed to the MSLA office (address listed)
  • Processing Fee: There is a $60 nonrefundable processing fee associated with an application. In the application, please indicate whether you will be paying with a credit card or will be mailing in a payment to the address listed below.

To complete the application, please submit the following:

  • Official Transcripts: Please have an official transcript from each college or university attended sent to the MSLA office, including an official statement of degrees earned and accompanied by certified English translations
  • Two Letters of Recommendation: Two letters of recommendation are required. After logging in to the application, there is a “create invitation” link under the “for others to complete” heading. Please click this link. It will bring you to a page to send out requests to recommenders. Recommenders will receive this invitation and upload their recommendations electronically.
  • Test Scores: Either the TOEFL or IELTS must be taken if the student’s first language or language of instruction is not English. Please have ETS send your TOEFL score directly to us (institution code 484230). The MSLA requires a minimum score of 6.5 on the IELTS. For the TOEFL, minimum scores 600/250/100 (PBT, CBT, iBT) must be met.
  • Essay: Please upload an essay within the application explaining “Why You Wish to Pursue a Career in Legal Administration”
  • Processing Fee: There is a $60 nonrefundable processing fee associated with an application. In the application, please indicate whether you will be paying with a credit card or will be mailing in a payment to the address listed below.
  • Financial Verification Form: Provide an original bank letter showing cash availability or official proof of scholarship/government sponsorship. Monthly bank statements will not be accepted. Photocopies of financial verification documents will not be accepted. **NOTE: the financial verification form does not apply to students who have filed documents to become permanent residents (resident aliens).

Legal Administration Certificate Admissions Requirements

Applications for the Certificate in Court, Law Firm, or International Court Administration are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis for a start date in January, May, or August.

Application Checklist:

  • Completed application
  • Official transcripts from undergraduate and graduate coursework
  • Essay “Why I Wish to Pursue a Career in Legal Administration.”
  • A non-refundable $60 processing fee
  • Two letters of recommendation

Upon acceptance into the MSLA degree or certificate program, students are required to make an additional $300 tuition deposit to reserve their place. Deposits are non-refundable and are credited toward a student’s tuition payment.
