Student Ambassadors
The DU Law Student Ambassadors exist as an exceptional group of individuals within the DU Law community who, as both individuals and a group, present a tangible student identity to DU Law alumni. Ambassadors are both geographically and ethnically diverse academic achievers and represent a broad spectrum of interest areas in the legal practice. Those students interested in becoming an ambassador should be prepared to interact with law alumni in social settings in a mature, respectful manner and are encouraged to form professional relationships in these settings that will benefit both alumni and student.
As an ambassador, students will participate in alumni events in conjunction with the DU Alumni & Development Office in a variety of capacities including, but not limited to, basic duties affiliated with running an event such as:
- Registration and check-in
- Greeting guests
- Assistance with set-up and tear down
- Participation on panels
- Public speaking
For example, your educational experience at DU, what brought you to law school, interest areas, etc.
Additionally, ambassadors will have the opportunity to:
- Network with DU alumni who are using their law degree in both traditional and non-traditional ways at a variety of events
- Interact with senior administrators at DU Law, including the dean of the law school
- Travel with the dean, faculty representatives, and Alumni & Development Office staff to regional events across the country as representatives of the law school.
Upcoming travel opportunities include Washington DC, northern and southern California, and New York City.
Above all, student ambassadors should maintain the highest integrity when representing themselves and consequently DU Law, to the alumni population, friends, faculty and staff of DU Law, and the remainder of the student body. The ambassador program is meant to serve as an enjoyable and natural way to bridge the gap and strengthen the ties between current students and alumni of the school.
