JD Admissions

The University of Denver Sturm College of Law provides students with a rich experience. Our curriculum demands critical and analytical thinking, while our talented faculty stresses not only the importance of knowing the facts, but also the obligation of the ethical practice of law. And with our location at the foot of the Colorado Rockies, you’ll live, work, and play in one of the most beautiful areas of the world.

Academics

Students are able to enroll in innovative legal programs and designate specific areas of emphasis, such as

• International Legal Studies
• Public Interest Law
• Business and Commercial Law
• Natural Resources and Environmental Law
• Tax Law

Special classes and schedules give twenty-first-century lawyers an edge. We also offer day and evening class schedules, so that you can earn your degree at a convenient time for you, and dual degree programs that allow you to supplement your J.D. with an advanced degree. And with a student-faculty ratio of 14:1 you’ll be sure to get the individual attention you deserve.
Practice

Because of our strong ties with the legal community in Denver, you’ll have access to valuable experience as an extern. Our student clinics provide additional lawyering practice, and our five law journals allow students to participate in high-level intellectual legal discussion.

Environment

DU Law has a diverse and intellectually stimulating environment. Twenty percent of our students are of ethnic descent and 50 percent of our students are from out of state. We are just minutes from world-class ski resorts, incredible views, and hiking and mountain bike trails. For fun closer to home, spend an evening in LoDo, Denver’s renovated downtown area; attend a baseball, hockey, football, or basketball game; or cheer your favorite singer, dancer, or actor to an encore.
