Session Proposal

  • Session proposal must reflect the theme, "The New American Landscape" and fit into one of the categories listed under "Session Tracks."
  • Please be sure to first review the document "What we are looking for."
  • Please complete ALL of the following information.  Incomplete proposals will not be considered.
  • To ensure you have adequate time to get your message across, we are limiting all sessions to no more than 2 speakers. You may also include a moderator, for a total of 3 people.
  • Please keep in mind that the required information is necessary in order to apply for AICP CM and Continuing Legal Education credits.

 

Session Track: Please choose one of the following categories to which your session will best relate. This step is mandatory. Before selecting, read "What we are looking for."
Title: Think creatively and write a title that will attract attendees to your session and yet accurately reflects the content of your presentation
Format of Session (choose one):

Traditional Panel (75 minutes with 15 minutes for Q & A)
Moderated Discussion (primary speaker with moderated responses)
Debate (highly desirable, 75 or 90 minutes)
Clinic ( 2-1/2 hours in length)
Mobile workshop
Learning Objectives (this step is mandatory). By the end of the session, each attendee will be able to:

Provide a three sentence (60 word maximum) summary of your session (this step is mandatory): This summary will be used to prepare the conference program description for our website and the conference program. Make certain it is well written and thorough. When preparing your presentation and description, keep in mind all of the stakeholders involved in the land-use arena. This is the marketing tool to encourage attendance at your session.
Outline of Session (this step is mandatory): Prepare a brief outline for your session including main topic points. The outline will be used in evaluating your proposal and in applying for Continuing Legal Education credits.

Please note that all speakers and moderators will be required to register online for the conference, although the basic registration fee is complimentary. We encourage speakers and their organizations to contribute financially as sponsors. This allows RMLUI to maintain and enhance our role as a critical forum on Western land use issues through conferences, research, and publications.
